The Witch and the Child
She ran away as fast as she could from gush of waves that
were following her. The waves as if alive were chasing her as if knowing where
she was about to catch-up to her. She rushed to her mother’s spell room and
immediately locked the door behind so the waves couldn’t break-in.
She needed to find a solution soon,
as the waves were knocking against the door violently. She mixed several
potions into one which turned into a potion that was foggy and cobalt in
colour. She opened the door and threw it into the waves in hope. Luckily it extinguished
the waves as water extinguishes fire, leaving only some slight bitumen in
bluish colour behind instead.
She saw the witch outside her house,
furious as hell and shaking the ground with her broom as like the tremble of an
earthquake. The witch surely never expected that little child to defeat her
spell. But the witch would come back with more potent and malignant spells.
When one day that she deemed that the child was no longer threat to her. The witch
has seen the child as a threat since her mother become a most rival enemy, even
though she had turned the mother into some bush of green. However maybe the
witch thought the child could have vengeance on her and be able to bring back
her mother too.
But there was a way for the child to
drive away the witch and all her spells from her life once and for all. That
was to go to a land far-far away where her great-grandaunt lived. She was one
of the most know-how and talent witches of all. She must know what to do the
child thought.
She brought with herself a cushion
of silk and a rug. She also brought her potions that should keep her warm and
safe during her treacherous journey ahead, and she left the house in the middle
of the night when no one could see her leave.
Her great-grandaunt greeted her as if she was expecting her.
She gave her great-grandaunt some flowers that she picked-up during her
journey. She told her all about the witch, her great-grandaunt listened as if
she already knew about it. The aunt told her great-grandniece to stay the night
and in the morning she’d tell her what to do.
The child was about to leave and the great-grandaunt gave her
a potion and it’s recipe in case she wanted to make the potion again. She left
her great-grandaunt’s land for another treacherous journey back home.
The witch came back to her house again
and this time the child could face her. She went outside her garden and planted
the potion into the ground. Suddenly, smog surrounded the witch. The witch gagged
and wailed but couldn’t escape. The smog was suffocating her and following her
wherever she went. The witch would spend
most of her existence enveloped by that smog if not for a very long time
indeed.
She definitely won the fight this
time and now she can just be a child again and concentrate on growing her
talents. Maybe one day she will be able to create a potion to bring her mother back
too. If the witch will ever come back she will be more than ready.
